The One Thing Every Good Display Has (That Yours Might Be Missing)
There’s always that one house you drive by on your way home. Its covered in Christmas lights. Lights everywhere! You have all types of Christmas decorations and decorations that represent everything Christmas. There’s a lot to look at but something just isn’t right about it.
You then drive by another house that has maybe half of what the first house had on it. But for some reason that house just grabs you. You want to pull over and take a closer look at it. It has an inviting feel about it. Why is that? Well, there is usually one common thing that these displays have in common: A Theme!
Have A Theme For Your Christmas Display
When people think about having a theme for their Christmas display, they sometimes believe that they need to break the bank. Or maybe think it will take too much time. When it comes to your Christmas display you don’t need to spend a fortune. All you need is for your display to have a personality.
Maybe you have tons of Candy Canes and Christmas Lights. Or maybe you want to display Christmas Snowflakes and snow men. Christmas Inflatable Figures are always a hit too. These are all good ideas for a Christmas display theme. Just make sure your display has a personality.
You could do a Christmas theme of Santa and reindeer. Or even some of your favorite Christmas Characters. You can incorporate your music effects and color if you have Christmas lights in a sequence. There are many things to consider when doing a Christmas light show but it doesn’t have to be that way. You can still create a theme without the use of any technology.
That is what will make your Christmas display memorable. It’s that one Christmas display that has Christmas Lights. Well now it’s the Christmas Candy Cane House. Or Christmas Snowman house. That house that has the lawn covered with Christmas Inflatables they will remember that about your Christmas Display.
Don’t Try To Outdo Yourself With Christmas Decorations
Once you get that one item that you think will better your Christmas display you continue to find more items that will better your Christmas display. Which ends up with you having tons of Christmas decorations. I know there’s nothing wrong with that. But just because you have more decorations doesn’t mean it looks better. It can actually look worse if you add too many decorations. You want your Christmas display to be nice and eye-catching but not overdone.
You can also mix different Christmas decorations together. A quick tip if you have an assortment of Christmas decorations that don’t all go together. Try to find similar ones and keep them together. You could have Santa and his reindeer near one another, then maybe some snow men. Another spot you could fill with candy canes and peppermints. It gives you more space for all the different types of decorations that you may have accumulated over the years. You won’t feel as if your house looks messy or you threw everything on your lawn. By having certain decorations grouped together you have room for all your favorite decorations.
Think About This Before Buying More Christmas Decorations
If someone drove by your home, what would they remember about it the following day? Your Winter Wonderland? Your Christmas Candy Cane Forest? All of the Christmas Characters at your home? If you cannot think of what your Christmas display theme is, you may want to work on that. You don’t have to remove all of your Christmas decorations. Maybe you can combine some of them or use similar colors throughout your display. You may already have what you need to have a themed Christmas display.
You can never go wrong with a Christmas display. There are many themes that will work on a home and many that won’t. That’s why it’s always fun to drive around your neighborhood to see what everyone else is doing. Everyone has their own ideas of what they think makes Christmas wonderful. All you have to do is take your display and make it focused. There’s no reason to spend more money then you already have or try to keep up with others. Use what you have and what you enjoy then create something.
Remember that it’s all about what you do with what you have.
